Eagles Game

Ok, So the Eagles game was awesome but also very traumatic. Clearly, we've been in public with Mother but being at a crowded sports event like that is completely different. I didn't know whether or not I wanted to laugh or cry. I pushed through it and it turned out ok.

It was like freezing out, it was a Thursday night game and so we bundled up and that included preparing mother for it. We had leggings on, pants, under amour, eagles shirts, jackets, etc....Mother ended up like she was Russian or something so we called her Ivanna the entire night.

This is the only picture we got her to cooperate for and it was a surprise shot.

Doesn't she look soooo cute and happy? I love that woman! We tried to get more pics of her but she kept trying to get out of the picture and what not.

She just kept trying to get out of the pictures.
It was really funny because she definitely didnt want to be in the picutres and she knew the flash was coming so before we even put the camera up she would close her eyes. Here are a few more of mommy:

Mother and I (She loves me! You can't tell?)

Silly girl. So then we went to the game....

Let's just say IVANNA is the SLOWEEEEEEEST walker known to mankind and I'm not even joking. It felt like we were literally dragging her to our seats. I have to admit I lost my cool at one point and not with Mother but with some asshole that thought it was ok to be rude. We were walking and he kept saying move it along, let's go, i'm trying to get to my seat. He definitely could've passed us but since he's an idiot he didn't. So, he became extremely rude and disrespectful towards Mother and so when he walked by I pulled back my leg and strategically tripped him and he nearly fell on his face. He then proceeds to try and yell at us while his girlfriend ran away because she knew he was being an asshole. I just looked at him in disbelief while he was trying to fight 5 girls. Idiot. I do not need to go around telling everyone my mom has dementia, so what if she walks a little slower or isn't there, if people were just courteous and respectful like they should be there shouldnt be a problem.

Moving Ivanna along...

So, its finally time to get to our seats and we're walking up the steps, albeit slowlyyyyyyy and we finally get to our seats which happen to be 11-15 and the first thing I think is great we have to make all these people stand up and mother is going to be so confused but I proceed on. So, everyone goes down the aisle except for Mother and I (I was basically behind Mother with my shoulder under her ass trying to get her to move up the steps at faster than a sloth pace). Mother goes down the aisle and sits in seat number 2, SEAT NUMBER 2. I try to get her up and she won't budge she just sitting there like she is super glued to the seat. Some of the guys sitting near us are like aww, mom come on mom. Next thing I know as I am trying to get Mother up about 15 people start a Mom cheer to get her out of the chair because they thought she was drunk. I'm like omg, do I laugh? My eyes are filled with tears as I try and get her up and after what seemed like an eternity she got up!!!

Us finally in our seats!!!

We're finally sitting down and watching the game and I was just sitting back and trying not to think about the emotional trauma I just went through and I looked down and laughed hysterically! While getting Mother dressed I put gloves on her well, I put the one glove on her and she just kind of took over so I let her put the other one on, whoopsie....
Ms. Cyclops ;-)
We managed to stay at the game for about 1 quarter before we left. 2 mins after we sat down Mother started complaining about how she wanted to leave. She was cold and she wanted to go home to be with Max (that damn dog)!

that's weird!

Mother has a new favorite phrase..... that's WEIRD

I'm not sure why she is saying it so much but she really does like it. To start off the morning she looks out at the snow (out of her trash can creeping window and wait omg, that reminded me we got a NEW trashcan, must talk about that later) and she says, "that's so pretty" and i'm like yeah, its pretty and blah, blah, blah and then she says "that's weird" not sure how the snow went from being pretty to weird...

10 minutes later she does this:

Mother picks up an apple, a very large apple and says what's this? I tell her its apple and she preceeds to tell me  that its weird! SURPRISE SURPRISE. Then, she picks up a Clementine and says there's more and I was like yeah, that's a clementine. She thought that the clementine was an apple too and of course called it weird. I asked her if she wanted want and she unkindly declined, which ISN'T weird. She never was a fruit/veggie person. The unkind part certainly isn't her but its part of her disease. I knew because she was playing with food she was hungry so I offered her a donut and she looked like a kid in a candy shop and was like, "WE HAVE DONUTS" haha, i'm sure i'll have to hide them or next time I turn the corner the box will be empty.

Who is that?

I was just looking through my notebook to see things Mother has done and I giggled because we were looking through pictures and she's pretty good at recognizing everyone but this time not so much.

Me: Ma, do you know who that is?
Mother: No, who is it?
Me: It's you!
Mother: me? ew, yuck!

Oh, Mother. She has no sensor at ALLLL!

I dont know how she could have said, "ew, yuck", she's beautiful. Here is a picture of Mother before the silliness began:
Nan (Mom's Mom), Erik, and Mother

Seeing if this works...

A video of mother talking about those cameras!

Im not sure if this will work for everyone but I am in the process of trying to get them from phones to the computer, I wish I had a flip camera because then this would be so easy!

The neighbors are watching us!

Welp, she's at it again and its even worse now. The neighbors are apparently weird and secretly videotaping us. She gets up and shows me where the hidden cameras are which one is a plant hanger thing on the ceiling. I suppose we'll have to take that down. I have now started telling her that we took the batteries out of all them and that the insulation stuff we put on the windows protects from the cameras. I have a few videos which I will be uploading, if my stupid phone allows me.

Also, the neighbors don't like mother and she's apparently not around them because she's sick. Interesting to know that she knows she's not well.

She loves the dog more

It is a running joke in the family that Mother loves Max, the dog, more than she loves us and you know what it might be true. We always ask her who she loves more and most of the time she responds Max. Nowadays, when we go out to family dinners or events she'll ask about leaving after 15 minutes because she has to go home and take care of the dog. She is constantly asking about if when we are gone or if we plan on going somewhere she asks if he'll be okay.

I caught her doing this recently (i'm not referring to her plucking her eyebrows out because we all know thats a daily occurrence)...

Yup, that's my girl holding hands with her favorite being!!!

Its been so long

Yet again, I became so busy that I couldnt post :( but don't worry I have everything written down. I started carrying a little book around so every time Mother did something I wrote it down as a little reminder. Since, the last time I posted we've gone to an Eagles game, traumatic and fun, had doctors appointments and of course Christmas. So much has happened in between these times too. Well, not so much has happened but Mother continues to be entertaining, and I've captured some of it in pictures and on video!
